There are 20 participants for today’s mandarin guide walk.
The weather is fair to cloudy, and the tide is running out. Along the mangrove board walk, we meet some amazing creatures, the tree-climbing crabs are feeding on defoliations; the mudskippers are walking around their condominiums; the fiddle crabs are crawling out their homes; the small horseshoe crabs are swimming in the shallow stream; the plantain squirrels are jumping among trees, and the cicadas are singing loudly.
At the main bridge, we catch sight of stork-billed kingfisher, collared kingfishers, little egrets, great egret, grey heron and brahminy kite. Several schools of half-beak fish and anchor fish are swimming under the main bridge.
A flock of whimbrels and little egrets fly back to SBWR at the end of our walk.

(Cacatua sulphurea)Yellow-crested cockatoo @ NUS
The Yellow-crested cockatoos (Cacatua sulphurea) originated in Australia. They were brought into Singapore by pet trade and subsequently released or escaped. They have established themselves in Singapore and have feral breeding populations。There is a population living in NUS campus.

Nature nurture activities to secondary school students @ SBWR on 23th, April
Nature nurture is an important function of SBWR. There are several programs related to schools and institutes.
There were around 30 secondary school students participated in this workshop. They collected water samples from field, and measure temperature, PH, ammonia, Salinity and Hardness of different samples. These basic parameters can reflect the quality of water.
