We observed two oriental pied hornbills again at Japanese garden. It is not sure whether they are the parents we observed several months before at Chinese garden. This time, we noticed some behaviors of hornbills, as debark. One hornbill debarked the tree several times and we just thought he/she was cleaning the bill. Suddenly, a gecko escaped from the bark when one hornbill debark. Then both hornbills tried to chase the gecko, and the gecko jumped from the branch and falled onto the grass. Both hornbills looked downward but neither of them really flew down to catch the gecko. It is not clear whether or not hornbill debark for food as gecko and lizard.
